The FIRST CASE of SWINE FLU has been confirmed in house pets!
Some of you may know, others of you may not– there are certain diseases, parasites, and illnesses that we CAN pass back and forth and share with ALL of our beloved family members, not JUST the human ones. I know when I am sick, what I really want to do is just cuddle up on the couch or in bed with my puppy under a big warm blanket and watch movies all day. So, although it stinks for those of you who are just like me and reach to your animals for comfort… you should probably refrain from being that close to your furry or feathered friends while you could potentially spread it to them. And, although I’m sure most people aren’t as cautious about sanitizing their hands before touching their pets when they are sick- this is also a fantastic idea… you wouldn’t want to pass an illness on to your human kids would you?

Dear Pink Parrot Photo Clients, Friends, & Families,
As many of you know, we have had some MAJOR changes at Pink Parrot Photo. Due to the serious mold problem that was discovered at our Ogden Ave. Naperville location- we had to unexpectedly and extremely quickly move the studio to a new & safe location for the protection of our prints, equipment, clients, and staff.
Unfortunately we have experienced FAR further downtime than we had expected.
Although our NEW location is FANTASTIC and still located in Naperville, we ran into a few speed bumps since it’s right in the middle of the historic district and in the historic district there are strict regulations that come along with any changes or new business that is entering. While in the process of getting through the moving, setting up, zoning and permits to open– we were unfortunately unable to get back to many of you in the timely manner that we would normally. Our email boxes and voicemails have been overloaded also due to the holiday season at hand which has only further aggravated the situation. We are initiating a NEW answering service as well to further accomodate, and you should soon have no trouble getting through to us. It has come to our attention that some of you may be experiencing longer than normal processing times on your print orders as well, and we will make every available effort to personally follow-up with you as soon as possible.
We are EXCITED to announce that the NEW location: 418 E. School Street Naperville, IL will finally be OPENING for business tomorrow: Monday November 2, 2009!!!

It was a great honor to be the official photographer for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Dog Show in Chicago! This fabulous show took place October 9-11, 2009. Quite an experience, and so many lovely Cavaliers- I can’t wait to work with this great group again in the future!

Hey Everybody!
Just wanted to take a brief moment to announce the opening of Pink Parrot Photo’s NEW Naperville, IL photography studio & gallery location!
Some of you may know about the awful situation we have been going through with the Ogden Ave. storefront— Although the front of the studio was gorgeous and completely remodeled to suit our studio, the entire back half had been unusable space since nearly day one of our moving in. There was a water leak from the business next door coming through the walls and several sewage back-ups which both led to a BAD mold problem and us being shut down for health concerns until the landlord of the building could fix the issues. Unfortunately, after several months- the issue has still been unresolved.
We had to make the tough decision to relocate to a new location. BUT…. we are now even more conveniently located RIGHT DOWNTOWN Naperville in the middle of the historic district at the corner of School and Loomis just 4 blocks East of Washington!
To those of you who have been trying to get ahold of us, thank you SO very much for your patience and continued loyalty. During our move, we did NOT have access to our phone lines or voice mails. Our phone lines were just installed/transferred yesterday, and we are making every effort to get through the nearly 200 voice mails accumulated over the past two weeks. If you have any immediate concerns about orders, ordering, or immediate scheduling, please EMAIL us for a quicker response. (Admin@PinkParrotPhoto.com)
Although we are not unpacked or fully set-up yet, we should hopefully be able to start booking again by the beginning of next week.

What? Carol Stream Barks DOG Festival!

We had such a wonderfull time today at the “Carol Stream Barks” Dog festival! How exciting it was to meet SO many great new dogs and their people. And, just as fantastic to run into some familiar faces as well!

Today’s photo of the day is very special- I had just picked it out as a reminder to everyone to book their holiday sessions early this year… But now it shall serve as another type of reminder. This is Buddy, a gorgeous and super sweet cocker spaniel who we will all miss dearly. As pet lovers, we have just a short amount of time with each of our furry, feathered, or scaled family members and I want to encourage everyone to cherish each day that we have with them.
Buddy- you will be missed and loved forever!
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together….
To each family who’s heart is hurting- with love and my deepest sympathy.
